- Disable ReadyBoost
- Disable SuperFetch
- Disable the Windows Search service
- Disable the scheduled Disk Defragmentation task
- Disable the scheduled System Restore task (shows up as super-high System Volume Information traffic)
- Go into the registry and disable prefetching entirely.
